Final Fantasy Resonance

Final Fantasy Resonance Vision Pairings for Every Character

The quick answer

Choose Visions for the role and elements your party needs. Keep a dependable healer, add useful Stagger coverage, and check the MR, AP and Awakening requirements before copying a late-game setup.

Choose a role before a ranking

The most useful Vision depends on your current enemies and what the rest of the party can do. Keep reliable healing, cover the weaknesses you need, and give someone enough Stagger power to create a bonus turn.

The pairings below are practical recommendations based on skills and availability—not a claim that one setup wins every comparison. A named Vision is a single assignment: if Fina has Leah, do not plan a second simultaneous Leah for Nichol.

Pairings for all eight characters

Character A useful starting choice Role and alternatives
Rain Warrior of Light Vanguard Glaive adds Provoke, with protection and emergency recovery options. Use Cloud instead when protection is covered and you need Lightning/Water breaking.
Lasswell Cloud, then Bartz Cloud covers Lightning/Water. After airship access, Bartz adds Lightning/Wind/Earth. Tidus is an alternative for Water/Wind.
Fina Leah, then Ayaka Keep dependable healing. Leah’s Healing Wind restores the party and adds Regen; Nullify Charm helps against Siren. Ayaka requires the Chapter 7 quest.
Lid Cloud Adds Lightning/Water physical breaking. Warrior of Light can cover protection instead; change another assignment if Cloud is already in use.
Nichol Leah or Ayaka when available Useful when you need a second support/healing role. Do not duplicate Fina’s Vision; use an available support option or keep only one dedicated healer.
Jake Tidus Water/Wind coverage with backup recovery. Cloud is an alternative if free. Tidus first becomes reachable in Olderion.
Sakura Shantotto or Terra Shantotto covers Lightning/Water; Terra covers Fire/Ice/Water. Pick the elements the boss actually takes damage from.
Archwitch Fina Terra or Shantotto Split magical coverage with Sakura. Sephiroth is a later experimental option after winning his battle, not a compulsory default.

Do not hide the training cost

Skill or bonus Requirement to account for
Bartz’s Crushing Blade One Awakening star
Leah’s Cura One Awakening star
Tronn’s Half MP Cost MR9 and 50 AP to equip
Firion’s Arms Akimbo MR9 and 60 AP; the action also costs 40 MP
Terra’s Break the Limit MR9 and 30 AP
Shantotto’s conditional MP reduction Her LB gauge must be at least 50% for the listed effect

A learned Mastery Bonus still needs to be equipped. A Vision’s active skills disappear when that Vision is removed. Do not spend hours in the opening chapter trying to reproduce a late-game build that assumes MR9 and a large AP budget.

Adjust one problem at a time

  1. Identify the enemy’s elemental weakness.
  2. Make sure a healer can survive and act.
  3. Check whether your party can Stagger all enemies within one turn.
  4. Only then add damage-cap increases, extra actions or other expensive bonuses.

If a change breaks your healing or elemental coverage, it is not an improvement for that fight. See stage-based teams for complete lineups and all Visions for unlock routes.
