What MRP raises
Mastery Rank Points raise a character’s MR with the currently equipped Vision. They are separate from character EXP and from Magicite used for Awakening. The full-game maximum is MR9; Demo coverage reports a cap of MR5.
Each character–Vision pair has its own mastery. Moving a Vision does not erase the first character’s rank, but the next character must train their own pairing.
Methods by stage
| Progress | Where to start | Limit to remember |
|---|---|---|
| Chapter 1 | Earn Stagger Finish bonuses while exploring; equip training Visions before Citrine Pot encounters | Pots are one-time rewards, not repeatable farms. Do not grind beyond a Demo cap expecting stored progress. |
| Dirnado and Zoldaad | Fight enemies you can break and finish consistently; take advantage of Cactuar encounters | Cactuars are random encounters. No guaranteed per-minute rate is established. |
| Mysidia onward | Complete Victoria Revivified and train Victoria to MR7 for MRP Gain +50% | Equip the learned bonus; simply learning it is not enough. Check its AP requirement in your menu. |
| Late Crystal Tower | Choose battles your party can clear reliably with Stagger Finish | A guide reports roughly 100–300 MRP per battle in its sample, not a universal reward. |
| Late Dragon’s Maw exit island | Reach the forest island through the dungeon at Pharm’s southern tip | Ordinary Gigantuar favors MRP; Metal Gigantuar favors EXP; King Gil Snapper favors gil. These are different rewards. |
Dragon’s Maw is a difficult optional route, with a guide recommendation around level 55. Airship access alone does not mean the party is ready to farm it efficiently.
Set up Stagger Finish
Stagger all enemies in one turn, then finish the battle during the bonus turn. Control damage when necessary: Defend or use an item instead of killing the last target too early.
This does not mean every fight should be dragged out. If weak enemies die before you can set up the bonus, choose a slightly stronger group that you can still defeat safely.
MRP bonuses and realistic expectations
Mastery Pendant doubles its wearer’s MRP, but it is a later reward tied to the airship treasure-radar upgrades. The final search described in the route is in the sea north of Grandshelt’s desert. Do not include this pendant in an early-game efficiency claim.
A Chapter 4 Zoldaad video sample shows 429 MRP with Stagger Finish and Overkill labels. That is one observed result, not a stable yield or proof of the fastest method. Difficulty, equipment, encounter frequency and the way bonuses stack were not established by that sample.
Rotate Visions once your current training goal is met, while keeping the skills needed to win the next fight. The Vision guide explains MR, AP and Awakening; the Citrine Pot guide covers its item interaction.
